In progress!

Studio project.  Probably about 80% completed...the predicament lies in how the hell I'm going to decide to display them.  I need to make sweet bases.  Oh, Christmas break, how I will use thee to draw in my sketchbook 4ever(and eva eva, and eva eva? I'm sorry Ms. Jackson wooooo)

Masquerade

I mean, anyone who didn't see this coming is silly.

Unfinished Figure Study

As noted in the title...extremely unfinished.  Bah Humbug.

Final Drawing Concepts Project: Week 3

For the final week, we had to spend 12 hours drawing.  I made a third drawing during this time but it was eh.  The first green photo is the entirety of the drawing followed by two details, same format follows with the black drawing.  Hmm, these are both the same size...probably about 4 feet tall?

Final Drawing Concepts Project: Week 2

9 hour drawin', this baby is about 6 feet tall.  My rash literally last SECOND decision to chop of the head and reconnect it at the bottom of the drawing resulted in my professor saying during critique: "Why would you chop off the head?  I miss it up top."

Painting Appreciation

This class was absolutely amazing.  We just listened to John Walker talk about painting and sculpture every Friday for 2 hours.  Our only assignment was to do a painting of a painting or sculpture we love.  This is by sculptor Gustav Vigeland; not sure of the name but it's in the Vigelandsparken in Oslo, Norway which is my heaven on earth.

More Sculpture Techniques

These are all plaster casts.  The first one I covered in wine (lol so funny), the second I made a cavity by putting clay into my rubber mold before pouring the plaster so that it would result in a negative space, the third has a gold crown, and the fourth has a filling.  And yes, the filling is glittery.
More teeth, no way!...left to right: chocolate cast, a tooth with a brace, coffee stained tooth, wax, design cast, and in the front is cement.

My professor runs a bronze factory in Boston and told us we could make a small object in wax for him to cast in bronze.  Obviously, I made a Corby.

Final Drawing Concepts Project: Week 1

We were asked to pick an idea to work from for the rest of the year.  I am working with the idea of irrational paranoia as well as a general anxiety and/or fear of death.  We had to draw for at least 6 hours last week, whether this time was put into one drawing or multiple drawings.  This upcoming week we will continue working with our chosen theme, and have been asked to bring back 9 hours of drawings.  Ideally each drawing works off of the previous drawing/drawings.

Studio

1)-3) This is a torso I worked on for a couple weeks but my professor, Batu, wants me to start over.  I took a few pictures before I destroyed it.
4)-5) Dome-like-structures I made out of cut up record covers.  I'll be making many more of these before I decide what I would like to do with them.
6) Running buckets!  This is just a maquette (small sculpture study) of an idea that is going to become much bigger/much more interesting.

Contemporary Issues

1) Obstruction assignment:  This is my re-make of Maxine's sculpture.
2) Original comic strip.
